Marantz’ latest top-of-the-line Blu-Ray player is available now, under the name Marantz UD9004. For this multi-format player, Marantz used all its means to develop a reference Blue-Ray player. The player is Profile 2.0 BD-Live compatible and is able to play a huge variety of discs. In addition to Blu-Ray and DVD reproduction, the player is also suitable for 2- and multi-channel reproduction of DVD-Audio and SACD discs. Thanks to the extreme construction of the appliance, these formats as well as CDs are reproduced in an excellent quality. The UD-9004 has a heavy power supply and uses separated circuits for analogue and digital signals. All aspects of the mechanism and its robust CD drive were optimized to prevent vibrations. All this technology was brought together in a copper housing, heavier than many other amplifiers.

The player has the ability to decode Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master internally and to send it through the 7.1 analogue output. This makes the player very suitable for use with other High-End products that, for reasons of quality, leave out the decoding of digital formats. When the tone formats can be sent as bitstream, the 2 HDMI outputs can be used. The outputs can both be used for the reproduction of picture and sound, but can also be set separately for the reproduction of pictures on connection 1 and the reproduction of audio on connection 2. In this way, the best quality can be achieved by providing the other appliances in the set-up only with the signal that is required.
Video processing is performed by a Silicon Realta Optix HQV chip that unleashes professional calculation power on all imaginable facets of image quality. This allows an unequalled image quality with Blu-Ray and DVD discs. An SD card slot allows the use of memory cards for the reproduction of, for instance, DivX-HD.
