Monitor Audio

The renowned loudspeaker brand Monitor Audio began in 1972. The brand distinguishes itself by using the unique C-CAM (Ceremic Coated Aluminium Magnesium) cone technology that they developed. The cone consists of a very thin magnesium/aluminium alloy with a vacuum metallized ceramic coating. This results in the lightest and most rigid cone material in the market place and guarantees a unique ‘fast’, easy and transparent reproduction. The ‘golden dome’ tweeter unit is remarkable because of the vacuum metallized gold coating on the C-CAM cone. As all cones are made of the same material, an optimum integration is created during reproduction, so that only simple filters are required. This has a positive effect on the frequency and phase characteristics.

Music and Home Theater reproduction usually have different requirements for loudspeakers. Monitor Audio makes sure that each model is suitable for both applications and that the supplementary center and surround loudspeakers seamlessly fit in with the others.

Monitor Audio’s objective is to realize optimum sound reproduction using the most modern materials. The high requirements for these materials, forced Monitor Audio in an early stage to produce everything themselves: from tweeter to cabinet. As a result, the company MQ Cabinets has become one of the most renowned worldwide suppliers of cabinets. From the start, the company focused on the United Kingdom and the United States. Particularly, because the fully manual high quality production process is not suitable for mass production.
