Onkyo TX-NR5009

The Onkyo TX-NR5009 has no less than eight HDMI inputs and two outputs (two outputs and one input are gilded) and an capacity of 9 x 220 Watts. In addition, the Onkyo TX-NR5009 has two USB ports, a Universal Port for Onkyo components, and an RGB input for PC signals. The Onkyo TX-NR5009, in addition to the remote control, can be controlled via an Android or iOS application that you can download on your smartphone. Of course, the Onkyo TX-NR5009 also has an ethernet connection.

The Onkyo TX-NR5009 supports various internet radio stations and streaming music services, such as Spotify, last.FM, Napster and vtuner. The Onkyo TX-NR5009 is also DLNA certified, which means that it is easy to stream media from other devices in your home network. The most used file formats are supported, such as FLAC, WMA Lossless, WAV, AAC, Ogg, MP3 and Super Audio CD.

With 9.2 channel control – and Onkyo’s Zone 2/3 possibility for fully controlled stereo audio from various sources in two other rooms – users will have many possibilities for flexibly adjusting the home cinema system. Thanks to Audyssey automatic calibration it becomes even simpler. This software will make sure that the audio is adjusted in an optimum way, depending on the acoustics and shape of your room. DTS Neo:X is also added to the possibilities. This audio technology makes it possible to extend your 5.1 or 7.1 home cinema system with additional speakers for an even more impressive surround effect.

Furthermore, the Onkyo TX-NR5009 has various audio technologies to optimize the audio quality, such as 192 kHz/32-bit TI Burr-Brown DACs and a 32-bit DSP chip. The enforced chassis should reduce vibrations. The HQV Vida VHD chip must make sure that standard definition material is converted to Full HD, while the Marvell Qdeo chip can convert Full HD material to a 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution for future TVs.
